Q:
A:
How are the collected funds handled?

Friends of the Berlin Aquatic Center is a registered nonprofit. All tax deductable donations collected by its members are deposited into the nonprofits bank account and held there until such a time that enough is raised to fund one of the many needed projects. At that time the money is transfered over to the city to pay for
Q:
A:
What happens if the full amount needed isn't raised?

The pool will continue to be open seasonally, barring any major breakdowns. The widely discussed amount of $2 million is not an up front requirement for the pool to open. Projects can be completed as fundraising continues and priority will be given to those that have the greatest impact on the basic functions of keeping the pool running. We will continue to seek out all available funding opportunities to meet the overall goal but this is definitely not an all or none situation.
Q:
A:
What will be done to address concerns about staffing and other patron issues?

A community input survey was put out at the end of this last pool season. All of the feedback received (over 500 submitted responses!) has been recorded and we have been busy working on solutions. Rest assured we will continue working, along with the pool manager and staff, to make sure that the pool is a safe and accessible place for all to enjoy.
